The Chardonnay Smaragd Ried Kollmitz 2018 from Weingut Machherndl originates from the renowned Ried Kollmitz above Wösendorf. The combination of loess and weathered paragneiss gives the wine its pronounced minerality and elegance. Biologically managed vineyards, careful hand-picking and gentle vinification result in a characterful Smaragd that impressively reflects the terroir of the Wachau. After several years of bottle aging, the 2018 vintage presents itself as particularly harmonious and complex.

On the nose, fine aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, and citrus fruits unfold, accompanied by hazelnut, brioche, and subtle roasted notes.
