La Mozza – The Essence of Maremma in Every Glass

In the heart of Tuscany's wild and romantic Maremma lies the La Mozza winery – a place where untouched nature, Mediterranean climate, and modern winemaking artistry converge. The vineyards are located in the municipality of Magliano in Toscana, a region known for its exceptional conditions and distinctive red wines. Here, wines with unmistakable identity are created, characterized by elegance, balance, and the power of their origin.

La Mozza cultivates approximately 36 hectares, of which 16 hectares are vineyards, surrounded by forests, pastures, and an almost untouched landscape. The dry climate, abundant sunshine, and constant sea breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea create ideal conditions for perfectly ripened grapes. At the same time, calcareous and sandy soils provide freshness, minerality, and impressive depth in the wines.

At the core of their philosophy is the desire to produce wines that authentically reflect their origin. La Mozza combines traditional Tuscan grape varieties with selected Mediterranean varieties. In addition to Sangiovese, Tuscany's most important grape variety, Ciliegiolo, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Carignan, and Cabernet Sauvignon also grow here. The result is strong-charactered wines with personality that impressively express the Maremma terroir.

Among the winery's flagship wines is the Morellino di Scansano DOCG, which embodies the Maremma's origin with elegance and expression. Equally impressive is the single-varietal Sangiovese, which presents a new, modern interpretation of this classic grape variety. With Ciliegiolo, La Mozza cultivates one of the region's most traditional indigenous grape varieties, while Aragone, an exceptional "Super-Med," combines Mediterranean grape varieties into a complex and powerful wine. The range is complemented by an elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, which interprets this international grape variety in an unmistakably Tuscan way.

Sustainability plays a central role at La Mozza. The vineyards are cultivated with great care, with quality always taking precedence over yield. Low yields, intensive manual labor, and a respectful approach to nature create the foundation for wines of exceptional expressive power. Careful work is also carried out in the cellar to preserve the natural personality of each grape variety and vintage.
